January - January is always a funny one. And I genuinely think I speak for a lot of people when I say that! It began relatively stressful, as it has this year, thanks to a hectic uni schedule and preparation for January Exams. But once the stressful period had passed I had the chance to go on my first little trip of the year, in Centre Parcs Longleat Forest. It was the most lovely, relaxing weekend I'd had in a long time, and we all spent 4 days eating pancakes, walking through the forest, and being in and out of the most gorgeous hot tub (which I still miss to this day; what I would give to have one in my back garden).
February- A rather quiet month, except for lots of drinking and nights out with BFF's (even though after a Christmas period of drinking nothing but pink gin and rose, the thought of alcohol gives me the chills). It was a very girly month, I went to see Wicked at Bristol Hippodrome with my best girls, as well as celebrating Valentines day singles style with a night of drinking and eating (the best!).
March- Definitely the quietest month of the year, as it always is for me! As far as I can remember it was more drinking and eating (no surprises there).
April- OMG, finally some sun! This was the first month when I started feeling really like myself again ( I am about 98% sure I suffer from seasonal affective disorder because I genuinely feel like I should be a hibernating animal throughout winter). We had so many days of sun which was beautifulll and even though I was in full revision mode, the gorge weather made it that little bit more bearable. Weekend's in this month were full of pub garden visits! I took mum to London for the day towards the end of the month, for a mother's day treat to see our favourite west end show Les Miserables which was absolutely incredible. If you love a dramatic tear jerker you will LOVE Les Mis, we had an incredible view from our seat and the acting was so brilliant it made me wish I could sing (made me wish I had any talent to be honest). We also visited the beautiful Peggy Porschen cafe near Victoria, which, for someone who loves pink and cake was the absolute dream.
May- Another month of beautiful sun and pub garden visits (god I love summer). Myself and my best girls visited Bath for a sunny day of laughing and exploring, and even took our friend from uni to explore our home city for the day, which, in the sun looked so lovely (the winter slightly different). We ate lots of Pizza and Garlic Bread and drank so much delicious cider. The day after was one of the most special days for me as this marked the day of my first date with my now- boyfriend, which makes me feel so happy. This was one of my favourite days of the year as I don't think I stopped smiling once!
June- Definitely one of the busiest months of the year for me, I feel like I didn't stop! The month started with one of the other best days of the year, myself and my girls travelled to Cardiff to see Beyonce and Jay-Z in their On the Run tour 2, which was absolutely incredible. We cried happy tears for about 4 hours straight listening to her incredible voice and dancing along to every song, it was so brilliant. Royal Ascot was another highlight for me, a tradition for me and my best friend from school to visit on ladies day every year. We got royally dressed up, drank too many glasses of pimms and prosecco and spent (and lost) far to much money, but it was still so much fun nonetheless. Myself and my best friend also travelled to Cardiff again towards the end of the month, but this time to watch Ed Sheehan, and omg how amazing was he. His voice was incredible and I (of course) cried nearly all the way through, how someone can sing so flawlessly with no backing track blows my mind today. We then explored Cornwall at the end of June for our friend's 20th birthday, and considering the amazing weather we spent 4 days in the sea, sunbathing and drinking which was so lovely.
July- July was the month of my summer holiday! This time we travelled to Sa Coma in Majorca, and stayed in a beautiful hotel just off the beach. The 30 degree heat and constant sun filled me with so much happiness and I loved every minute of it. We went on pedalo's every day, drank ridiculous amounts of cocktails and ate our body weight in food, we literally never wanted to come home.
August- The best month of the year for me by far, as its my birthday month! I got totally spoiled, going on a trip to London with my best friends, having afternoon tea in Harvey Nichols, going on a big night out in Bristol with my friends and boyfriend, and having a lovely garden party in the sun with my family, all topped off with a big cake! This was also the month that I (finally) got a boyfriend, which has made the month even more special for me. I also went on a lovely sunny day out in town with my best friend where we basically spent the whole day drinking pornstar martini's and non stop laughing.
September- September marked the month of the beginning of the 21st birthdays, starting with my best friends! I also tend to get very over excited in September, knowing its the lead up to Christmas. My second year of Uni also started this month, which was very exciting but also scary! I cant believe I only have 1 year left after this one, and have to get a proper job.
October- Another month of birthdays, celebrating my other best friends 21st and another's 18th meaning more drinking and dancing (my favourite!). It's so bittersweet knowing everyone is slowly turning 21 (and getting old), but I can still relish the fact I won't be 21 for another 8 months, FAB.
November- Ho Ho Ho, the lead up to Christmas! This month was lovely for me, as it was spent christmas shopping with friends, lots of birthdays and cocktail drinking and visits to the christmas markets with my boyfriend. Planning for christmas began, and the decorations came down which made me feel so festive.
December- And that was it! Another year over. Another fab Christmas, spent celebrating with family and friends. This month was bittersweet, as I left my old job and got a new one, giving me something to look forward to in the new year. I visited the Botanist for a lovely christmas meal with my work girls, where we drank delicious martini's and demolished 3 courses. I also went for lots more festive meals, meaning my smile got bigger but so sadly did my tummy. New Year was spent with my favourite people ever, my boyfriend and best friends, in the florist on Park Street and our local pub, where we screamed the words to every song and drank copious amounts of gin, ending 2018 the same way we started it.
I am so grateful to have had such a special year, and I cant wait to see what 2019 brings! ♡
all the love x
